With COVID-19 disrupting our usual operations, we have reluctantly reviewed how we operate and the services we offer. Sadly we are unable to continue running poker tournaments or games at our UK venues. The exception being three-card poker games at selected venues.
We would like to thank our poker community for their support over the years, especially to those who have been with us since Genting Poker Series launched in 2012, and our staff who helped create an experience that was valued by all our players.

PokerStars announced a partnership with Genting Casinos UK this week. The two agreed to cross-promote in major online and offline events throughout 2017.
The deal represents a business alliance by one of the biggest names in online gambling and one of the biggest corporations in the land-based casino industry. PokerStars is the world’s biggest online poker site. Genting is the owner of land-based casinos such as Resorts World Sentosa, Resorts World New York City, and Crockfords Casino.
The deal means Genting Poker Series (GPS) events will be located in the PokerStars lobby. Those who want to win entry into GPS events can do so on PokerStars now.

Also, the GPS Series is going to include four PokerStars MEGASTACK live events during the company’s GPS Mini & Main Event festivals this year.
In related news, Jake Cody of PokerStars Team Pro said he would appear at the events to support them.
UK-based professional poker players should take the partnership deal as good news. It means they should be able to cut down on traveling expenses, since grinders will be able to double-up on some of the best-funded live poker events in the United Kingdom.
4 PokerStars-Genting MEGASTACKS Events
PokerStars and Genting Casinos UK have not announced the site of the four £170 buy-in MEGASTACK events, but the GPS event schedule has been released, so interested players should be able to determine the likeliest locations for the MEGASTACK events.

Genting Casinos UK Profile
Genting Casinos UK is the British-based division of Genting Group Limited. Genting is a Malaysian casino, leisure, and commercial multinational conglomerate best known for the “Resorts World” casinos.
Genting’s list of casinos includes Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore, Resorts World Manila in the Philippines, and Resorts World New York in Queens. Genting Group is the owner of Crockfords Casino, which was sued professional poker player Phil Ivey in an edge-sorting case. Genting and Crockfords accused Phil Ivey of using a technique to gain an advantage over the house during his high stakes baccarat sessions at their London casino. Because Crockfords’ management would not pay a 7.6 British pounds bill for their gaming losses, Phil Ivey sued them.
The Crockfords case alerted Borgata that the $9.6 million Phil Ivey won at their baccarat tables in the summer of 2012 also involved edge-sorting. Borgata sued Ivey and won a $10.1 million settlement, based upon his winnings and the comps from the huge amount of gambling Ivey did at the high roller table.
